#StrongCommunity Spotlight: ADVOS Continues “Sustaining Firm” Support of JALA

ADVOS is proud to be a Sustaining Law Firm for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid (JALA), a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing free civil legal assistance to low-income and special-needs groups.
During these unprecedented times, JALA’s services are needed more than ever. Recently, JALA’s volunteer attorneys have helped those in need in the following ways:
- Served a local man in need of safe housing after he was attacked walking home and his apartment was burglarized
- Helped a woman establish her rights as a tenant, ensuring necessary repairs were made to her home after suffering a stroke
- Protected a couple’s emergency stimulus money during these tough economic times
- Prevented a woman and her family from being temporarily homeless during the pandemic
These are just a few examples of JALA’s positive impact on our community. Each year, JALA serves approximately 11,000 people who don’t have access to quality legal assistance. JALA serves 17 counties of North Florida including Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Nassau, St. Johns, Suwanee, Taylor, and Union.
